영문 초록

A specific level of policy can be understood as a political equilibrium among interest groups. In this context, the political market power of rice farmers reflected in the direct payment policy in Korea is estimated in this paper. The assessed political market power of rice farmers are within the range of 0.027 and 0.093 which are far below the level that could result in the monopoly power. The estimated political market power of rice farmers for the period between 2005 and 2007 indicates decreasing trend. This result implies political power of rice farmers has declined in this period.
