중등 남교사의 은퇴준비 과정

국문 초록

본 연구는 중등남교사의 은퇴준비경험 과정의 실체행동 범위를 묘사하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이 연구를 위해 은퇴 3년을 앞둔 9명의 중등남교사를 목적적으로 표집하 였다. 2016년 4월에서 12월까지 9명을 심층면담 하였다. 은퇴준비 과정에 대해 평균 1시간 반 동안 심층면담을 실시한 후 녹음내용을 전사하여 줄 단위 분석을 통해 개념을 도출하고, 근거이론 방법을 적용하여 개방코딩, 축코딩, 선택 코딩에 따라 각 단계를 순환적으로 반복하며 분석하였다. 연구 결과 중등남교사의 은퇴준비는 77개의 개념, 37개의 하위 범주, 16개의 범주가 도출되었다. 연구의 중심 현상은 ‘은퇴 후 자유로운 삶을 기대함’으로 도출되었으며, 이를 토대로 패러다임 모형을 구성하였다. 연구주제에 대해 도출된 전체 범주를 관통하는 핵심범주는 ’진정한 삶의 의미를 찾아감‘으로 나타났다. 시간의 흐름에 따른 중등남교사의 은퇴준비 경험 과정의 분석결과는 ‘은퇴준비인식’, ‘나 다운 삶’, ‘발전하는 ’, ‘유연성 있는 삶’, ‘함께하는 삶’, ‘의미 있는 여정’의 6단계를 거치면서 온전한 자기의 삶 속으로 걸어가 고자 하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 중등남교사의 은퇴준비경험의 구조와 과정을 밝힘으로써 중등남교사의 은퇴준비과정을 보다 체계적으로 규명한 데 그 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims to propose a substantial theory describing the process of secondary school male teacher’s preparing retirement. In-depth interviews(average 90 minutes) were conducted with nine secondary school male teachers from April to December 2016. Using a grounded theory approach, 77 concepts, 37 sub-categories and 16 categories were derived from open coding. The paradigm model of central phenomenon revealed as ‘expecting free life after retirement’. The core category was, ‘finding the meaning of true life’. Results showed the following 6 stages in the process of secondary school male teacher’s preparing retirement: ‘the stage of awareness of preparing retirement’, ‘the stage of life of being myself’, ‘the stage of life of development’, ‘the stage of life of being flexible’, ‘the stage of life of being together’, and ‘the stage of life of meaningful journey’. This study provides the systematic understanding on the structure and process of secondary school male teacher’s preparing retirement. Finally, Implications of the results and suggestions for future studies are discussed.
