This paper deals with a method to eliminate transient faults and to detect permanent faults using the instruction level rollback in the digital computer systems. The duplication method and the stroed response method is used for compararing the theory and measurements. As a result, transient faults are corrected by reexecution of errored instruction in software and permanent faults are detected by the rollback method.
