초등학생의 다문화에 대한 인식과 다문화 효능감

국문 초록

본 연구는 일반 초등학생의 다문화에 대한 인식과 다문화 효능감을 살펴보는 목적으로 수행되었다. 연구 대상은 충청지역 소재 5개 초등학교의 5~6학년 617명이었고, 설문 조사를 통해 수집된 자료는 PSAW Statistics 18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학생의 다문화에 대한 인식에 영향을 미치는 유의미한 변수는 학업 성적과 다문화교육 경험이었다. 자신의 학업 성적을 높은 수준으로 인식한 학생과 다문화 교육을 받은 경험이 있는 학생은 다양한 문화에 대해 개방적인 태도의 필요성을 인식하는 정도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 초등학생의 다문화 효능감에 영향을 미치는 변인은 학업 성적, 가정경제 수준, 다문화교육 경험이었다. 반면 성별과 학년은 다문화 효능감에 영향을 미치는 변인이 아니었다. 자신의 학업 성적을 높게 인식한 학생은 일반기능, 인간관계 증진, 다문화가정 배려 측면의 다문화 효능감이 높았다. 가정경제 수준은 다문화 효능감의 하위요인 중 인간관계 증진 측면에만 영향을 미치는 유의미한 변인이었다. 다문화교육 경험이 있는 학생은 일반기능과 인간관계 증진측면에서 높은 점수를 보였다. 셋째, 초등학생의 다문화에 대한 인식과 다문화 효능감은 정적인 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the difference in perceptions on multiculture and multicultural efficacy according to general characteristics of elementary school students. The object of study were 617 5th and 6th grade students in Chungcheong province. The following results were obtained: First, school records and experiences of multicultural education were significant variables that influence in perceptions on multiculture. The students that perceive one s grade as high and that experience multicultural education recognized highly necessity of openness toward multiculture. However, sex and grade were not significant variables that influence in perceptions on multiculture. Second, in normal students there was significant difference in multicultural efficacy according to school records, the level of domestic economy perceived by students, and experiences of multicultural education. Third, this study proved to be a positive correlation between perceptions on multiculture and multicultural efficacy of elementary school students.
