지역예술축제의 현황과 개선방안에 관한 질적 연구 :: 거창국제연극제와 수원연극축제를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 질적 연구를 통해 해외의 대표 선진 사례인 아비뇽 페스티벌과 우리나라의 거창국제연극제, 수원연극축제를 비교함으로써 향후 우리나라 지역예술축제가 나아가야 할방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 질적 연구를 위한 자료 수집은 2012년 7월 19일부터 2014년 1월 20일까지 축제 전문가 8인과 심층면담(공식면담)을, 2명의 축제 운영 관계자와 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 1회 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 Seidman(2006)의 면담 자료 분석과 Hatch(2002)의 유형적 분석, 해석적 분석을 사용하여 국내외 지역예술축제의 현황과 운영방안에 관한 시사 점을 도출하였다. 지역예술축제의 방문객 만족도를 높이기 위해서는 효과적인 스토리텔링의 구성, 서비스품질 향상과 더불어 축제 브랜드 자산의 구축이 함께 이루어져야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

By using qualitative research to compare the Festival d’Avignon, a majorly successful foreign community art festival, with Korea’s Geochang International Theatre Festival and the Suwon Theatre Festival, this study proposes a guideline for Korea’s community art festivals that can be applied in future. For qualitative study, data collection was conducted by in-depth interviews from eight persons of festival expert, two parties concerned festival operator and focus group from July 19 2012 until January 20, 2014. We derived the implications of the status and management plan of the local arts festival using Seidman’s(2006) interview data analysis, Hatch’s(2002) pattern analysis and interpretative analysis. Our local arts festivals complement configuring an effective storytelling and making brand equity of the festival with improving quality of service in order to improve the satisfaction of festival visitors.
