장애대학생의 경험 이야기를 통해 본주관적 삶의 질에 대한 현상학적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 장애대학생의 경험이야기를 통해 주관적 삶의 질에 대한 경험의 의미구조와 본질을 알아보고자 하였다. 이에 따라 P대학에 재학하고 있는 장애대학생 12명을 대상으로 삶의 경험에 대한 회고를 듣고, 그 의미를 Giorgi의 현상학적 경험연구 방법에 따라 분석한 결과 얻어진 주된 결론은 다음과 같다. 장애대학생의 경험이야기를 통한 삶은 156개의 의미단위와 20개의 주제로 분석되었으며, 이들 주제는 다시 ‘슬픔을 건너서 받아들이기까지’, ‘기쁨의 근원’, ‘대학생활은 도전과 기회의 장’, ‘감정 말하기’, ‘나눔으로 삶을 보람되게’의 5가지 중심의미로 정리되었다. 이와 같은 결과를 통해 장애대학생의 이야기를 통한 경험 속의 삶의 질이 가지는 긍정적 구조를 확인할 수 있었으며, 향후 추출된 주제와 중심의미에 대한 실질적 지원을 재고함으로서 장애대학생의 삶의 질을 보다 높일 수 있다는 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The study was aimed to investigate the meaning structure and essence of experience pertaining to the subjective quality of life through the experiential stories of the college students with disabilities. The 12 college students with disabilities who are enrolled in P university were interviewed and the data was analyzed following the phenomenological method of Giorgi. The results are as follows. 20 themes from 156 meaning units were withdrawn based on the students’ reponses and then the themes were categorized 5 main meanings: ‘Accepting across the sorrow’, ‘Origin of joy’, ‘Ground of challenges and opportunities, college life’, ‘Talking about your feelings’, and ‘Worth of life by sharing’. The study confirmed the positive structure on the quality of life through the experiential stories of the college students with disabilities. The study implies that improving the quality of life for the college students with disabilities would be possible by reconsidering the aforementioned themes and main meanings.
