문제중심학습이 메타인지, 비판적사고력, 문제해결과정에 미치는 영향 : 식음료관련학과 음료실습과목을 중심으로 ˌ

국문 초록

본 연구는 직업전문대학에서 시행되는 문제중심학습법을 적용한 음료실습과목을 통해 학생들의 메타인지, 비판적사고, 문제해결과정의 발달에 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는지에 대한 실증분석을 실시하여, 효과적이고 새로운 학습방법에 대한 발견뿐만 아니라 교육방식이 가지는 다양한 영향력의 발견하여 미래 식음료관련 교과목의 교육방향에 대한 적용가능성의 시사점을 제시하고자 하였다. 먼저 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 교과목의 문제중심학습을 위한 문제개발관련 연구를 진행하였고, 이를 위해 학생들의 기초지식, 교과목 목표고찰 및 학습방향성 설정, 수업계획서 및 문제의 생성, 적용 및 평가에 대한 구체적인 과정을 구성하였다. 본 연구의 실증적인 분석을 위해 실험군과 대조군을 선정하고 문제중심학습과 일반적 강의식의 교육을 실시하고 교육전과 교육후의 각 결과변수에 대한 변화를 MANOVA로 측정하였다. 실증분석을 통해 문제중심학습을 경험한 학생들은 문제중심학습을 경험하지 않은 학생들에 비해 메타인지, 비판적사고, 문제해결과정에 있어 더 많은 증진을 가져왔음을 알 수 있었다. 하지만 비판적사고의 경우 일부 하위변수인 창의성, 개방성, 탐구성 부분에서 실험군의 학습전후의 변화가 통계적으로 유의하지 않았음을 발견하기도 하였다. 연구의 결과를 통해 음료실습관련과목에 있어 문제중심학습의 지속적이며 장기적인 적용에 대한 고려와 유사과목에 대한 문제중심학습의 도입이 필요함을 시사점으로 제시하였다

영문 초록

This study attempts to exam the effect of PBL on the meta-cognition, critical thinking, and problem solving process during a bar operation class to generate possible suggestion on an adaption of PBL in similar subjects. For the development of PBL process, firstly literature review was done then carried reconsideration of the aim and the study process of the original class with the investigation of basic knowledge of the current student of the subject. The research employed nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design through two different groups who had bar operation class in different colleges but studied identical major. Only experimental group took PBL during the semester, the other group took traditional lecturing class. After the data were collected, repeated measure MANOVA was employed to analysis the possible effects of PBL. Through the analysis, there was statistically significant improvement was found in experimental group but not in control group. There were, however, non statistically significant result also found in several lower value of critical thinking such as creativity, open-mindedness, and prudence. The research finding indicates that PBL should be applied to other similar courses in near future for longer and regular terms for generating high quality of educational practice.
