국문 초록

하루가 다르게 발전되는 소재, 기술의 진보는 이전과는 다른 방식의 상호작용을 통하여 제품과 인간과의 관계를 새롭게 정의할 수 있는 새로운 관점을 제공하고 있다. 자연적 환경 요소가 디자인의 일부가 되고, 그에 따른 반응으로써 다양한 형식으로 변화하는 인터랙티브 텍스타일 디자인 사례 연구를 통해 텍스타일 산업에 새로운 관점과 접근의 가능성을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 최근의 전시회나 서적에 소개된 다양한 텍스타일 디자인의 활용 사례를 통해, 그 흐름과 역할을 분석한다. 이 연구에서 소개한 사례는 외부 환경으로부터 오는 자극에 반응하여 다양한 변형과 변화를 유도하면서 특정한 기능의 수행을 목적으로 한다. 이처럼 새로운 소재와 기술의 통합은 평범한 일상에 특별한 기능과 혁신적 변화로써 환경과 제품 그리고 인간의 관계를 상호보완적 관계로써 접근할 수 있는 관점을 알 수 있었으며, 이를 바탕으로 본 연구가 앞으로의 인터랙티브 텍스타일 디자인을 위한 기초자료로써의 역할을 기대한다.

영문 초록

The advancement of materials and technology offers a new perspective for design in order to redefine the relationship between people and products through different modes of interaction. This trend presents a new point of view and the possibility of new approaches to the textile industry through the introduction of textile design cases in a variety of formats that are responsive to natural elements. This study examines the recent trend of textile design to apply newly developed materials and technologies in the case of textile design prototypes that change and transform visually or physically in response to environmental stimulus. To this end, the study analyzes the meaning and role of this trend through a case study of a variety of textile designs presented in recent exhibitions and publications. Interactive textile design examples presented in this study induce a change in the material properties in accordance with the intention and the purpose of products. Interactive textile design performs particular functions in response to immediate surroundings. It informs the users of the condition sensitively in a variety of ways. Such integration of smart materials and technology provides exceptional performance and innovative changes in the mundane objects of everyday life. Interactive textile design provides a new point of view for people, environment, and surroundings in complementary relations. Therefore, it is expected that this study could serve as a basis for future experimental textile design through investigating various design cases that show innovative thinking about the role of new materials and technology.
