영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate travel information types by content-analyzing daily newspaper articles which contain travel information. Little research has been done on this subject so far. The Internet homepage of Korea Press Institute was employed to search travel-related articles carried during the period of January 1-December 31, 1998. The built-in search engine was used by putting "travel" as a key word After a couple of screening processes, a total of 296 articles was selected from five major daily newspapers in Korea. Travel information about natural resources such as beach, mountain, hot spring consisted of a majority part of the newspaper articles. In addition, Kangwon province, east coast of Korea, was most often appeared in the articles. The research results showed that daily newspaper travel information partially focused on geographically limited areas. However, it was equally distributed over the seasons.
