영문 초록

Despite the significant role of mid & low priced hotels in the lodging industry, it has been ignored in Korean hotel industry. Recently, these types of accommodations have received great attention. The primary purpose of this study is to establish a general concept of mid & low priced hotel and to provide a basis for modeling of mid & low priced hotel through literature review and empirical data analysis. After literature review regarding mid & low priced hotels in foreign countries such as US, UK and France, also hotel selective attributes, a survey was conducted The survey was conducted from September 10 to September 23, 2000. Total of 320 questionnaires were distributed to the respondents in the hotels located in Seoul and Kimpo international airport. 270 questionnaires were collected and 208 were usable and analyzed The considerable results from data analysis in this study were extraordinary things that the customers of mid & low priced hotel particularly prefer in-room special facilities and complimentary things rather than other attributes. The findings imply that the mid & low priced hotel developers and marketing managers in Korea should both focus and enhance in-room facilities and complimentary things without amenities creep.
