국문 초록

본 연구는 2012년 여수엑스포에 대한 숙박수급을 분석하는 데 있다. 이를 위하여 계량적 예측기법과 설문조사를 포함한 질적 예측기법을 이용하여 관람객수요와 객실수요를 예측하고, 공급객실수를 추정하고자 한다. 수요예측결과 1ㆍ2차 권역의 모든 형태의 숙박시설(관광호텔,가족호텔, 콘도, 장, 여관, 청소년이용시설, 민박, 펜션)을 고려할 경우 여수엑스포를 개최하기 위한 객실 수는 부족하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 고급숙박시설이라고 할 수 있는 관광호텔ㆍ가족호텔ㆍ콘도에 대한 객실공급은 1ㆍ2차 권역을 합할 경우라도 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 2012년 여수세계엑스포를 성공적으로 개최하기 위해서는 중저가 숙박시설에 대한 개보수가 필요하며, 서비스수준의 향상, 그리고 예약시스템의 도입이 요구된다. 또한, 2차 권역까지 숙박시설을 확대할 수 있도록 이동의 편리성을 증진시키기 위한 도로의 확충 등 교통시스템의 개선이 요구된다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed demand and supply of lodging for the 2012 Yeosu Expo, South Korea. To this end, demand for tourists and rooms for the period of 2012 Yeosu Expo will be predicted and supply of rooms will be also estimated. The results of forecasting demand show that the supply of rooms would meet demand for rooms expected during the Expo when considering all types of lodging facilities, such as tourist and family hotels, condominium, motel, inn, youth hostel, bed and breakfast, and pension. However, the results also indicate that the supply of rooms would not meet demand for rooms when considering the high quality accommodations such as tourist and family hotels, and condominium. Therefore, improvement of low and medium lodging facilities, enhancement of quality of service, and reservation system of accommodation should be required for successfully hosting the 2012 Yeosu Expo. Also, transportation system to vicinity of Yeosu city should be expanded and improved in order to accommodate tourists who will stay over during the Expo.
