관광전공 공등교육 서비스 품질 향상을 위한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 교육서비스의 소비자인 학생의 특성과, 학생의 관점에서 선호하는 학습 접근법과 선호하는 교수법을 이해하고 파악함으로써 교육서비스품질의 근본이 되는 “교육”의 품질 향상에 초석을 마련하고자 하였다. 특히 서비스 산업에 종사하게 될 관광전공 대학생에게 향상된 교육서비스 제공을 위하여, 관광정공학생의 성격특성을 파악하고, 인문계와 자연계 학생들과 비교하여 성별 및 전공에 따른 선호학습접근법과 선호교수법 및 성격요인과 성별 및 전공이 선호학습접근법과 선호교수법에 미치는 영향에 대한 실증분석이 이루어졌다. 분석결과, 성별에 따른 성격요인의 차이에서 관광전공학생은 경험에의 개방성 부분에서 유의한 차이를 나타냈으며, 특히 여학생의 경우 경험에의 개방성에서 낮은 평균으로 나타났다. 전공별 성격요인의 차이에서는 신경증, 경험에의 개방성 및 성실성에서 유의한 차이를 보였으며, 특히 관광전공 남,여학생 인문계와 자연계와 비교하여 낮은 성실성을 보였다. 전공별 선호학습접근법의 경우 심층적 학습접근법과 표면적 학습접근법 모두 유의한 차이를 보였으며, 관광전공 학생의 심층적 학습접근법 선호가 가장 높게 나타났다. 전공별 선호교수법에서는 강의식, 소그룹토론식, 프로젝트/발표식 교수법에서 유의한 차이를 보였으며, 관광전공 남학생의 경우 소그룹토론식 교수법을 관광전공 여학생의 경우 강의식을 선호하는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This paper addresses the importance of accepting education institute as a part of service industry, therefore, acknowledging students as consumers and learning and teaching as the core of education service should take the first place in improving the service quality in higher education. In addition, it seemed ironic that the there were very few research done about the service quality in tourism education since tourism related studies aim to nurture students to work in the service industry. Given soid that, service quality in higher education may be improved when it first understands the characteristics of its consumers, the students; and their preferences for learning styles and teaching methods. The result of this paper finds that there are significant differences in the “openness to experiences” between the two genders. Also, there are significant differences in the preferences to learning approaches as well as in the preferences to teaching methods by students’ study fields.
