국문 초록

본 연구는 호텔특성에 따른 자본구조의 차이와 자본구조에 영향을 미치는 요인을 알아보고자 시도되었다. 호텔특성은 등급, 경영형태, 기업규모, 운영기간, 소재지로 구분하였다. 2002년부터 2009년까지의 공시된 자료 총 575개를 분석에 사용하였으며, 분석방법으로는 t-test, 분산분석 및 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 실증분석을 통해 본 연구에서 제시한 연구문제를 검증한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 호텔기업의 자본구조는 호텔특성별로 차이가 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 둘째, 호텔기업의 부채비율에 영향을 미치는 요인은 유형성(+), 수익성(-), 규모(-), 감가상각비(-)로 나타났다. 셋째, 호텔 특성별로 구분하여 부채비율에 영향을 미치는 요인은 상이하게 나타났다. 회귀분석 결과를 종합하면, 호텔기업 전체의 자본구조는 정태적 절충이론과 자본조달 순위이론 어느 한 이론으로 설명할 수 있다고 단언할 수 없으나 대체적으로 자본조달 순위이론을 지지한다고 볼 수 있다. 아울러, 적정한 수준의 부채비율을 유지하고 재무건전성을 유지하려면 앞서 제시하고 있는 해당호텔의 속성을 고려하여 개선방안을 강구하여야 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the difference of Capital structure and the factors that affect Capital structure by hotel"s characteristics. The characteristics consist of it"s rank, type of management, company size, management period, and its location. The total of 575 financial statements were analyzed through the ANOVA, t-test, and multiple regression method. The major findings of the study were as follows: Firstly, the capital structure of hotel companies revealed the differences by their characteristics. Secondly, factors that influence hotel"s debt ratio were shown as tangible assets(+), profitability(-), size(-) and depreciation cost(-). Thirdly, factors affecting the debt ratio by hotel characteristics were different. In conclusion, either the pecking order model or the trade-off model may not explains the capital structure of hotel companies but the majority seem to support the trade-off model. Moreover, improvement strategies including the suggested factors should be considered to keep the proper level of debt ratio and financial soundness of hotel companies.
