존재론적 관점에서 본 이이(李珥) 철학의 지평

국문 초록

논자는 이 글에서 이이의 철학을 동양적 사유 전통에 근거한 ‘천인합일(天人合一)’적 사유로 규정하고, 이러한 관점이 ‘이기묘합(理氣妙合)’의 전제에 드러나 있는 한편, 이러한 전제가 ‘이통기국(理通氣局)’과 ‘기발리승(氣發理乘)’의 상위 개념으로 제시되고 있음을 규명한다. 논자는 이이가 리와 기가 ‘서로 섞이지도 않고 떨어지지도 않는(理氣不相雜·不相離)’ 존재론의 구현으로서 이기묘합의 세계관을 드러내고 있으며, 이는 형이상과 형이하 양자의 밀접한 관계성을 드러내는 것이라 주장한다. 리와 기가 밀접한 상호 관계를 형성한다는 것은 동양적 사유의 특성을 나타내는 것으로, 이는 원리와 현상이 괴리 됨 없이 공존하는 모습을 가리키는 것이다. 논자는 이러한 맥락에서 이이의 철학이 천인합일에 근거한 이기묘합의 세계관으로 제시되고 있으며, 또한 이러한 특성은 이통기국과 기발리승의 이기론의 명제에서 구체화되고 있음을 규명한다. 이에 따라 논자는 이통기국과 기발리승이 이기묘합의 존재론을 구체적으로 설명하기 위한 하위 개념이라고 주장한다. 논자는 이이의 이기묘합의 존재론이 동양의 유기체적 사유의 특성을 띠고 있으며 이러한 맥락에서 동양적 사유 전통을 충실히 계승하는 한편, 이통기국과 기발리승의 독특한 하위개념을 제시하여 이를 독창적으로 규명하고 있음을 밝힌다.

영문 초록

This paper illuminates the Philosophy of Yi,Yi that is the Unity of Heaven and Man(天人合一) from the oriental traditional thinking, also this aspect appears the premise of the subtle coexistence between Li(理) and Gi(氣), that is appeared as super ordinate concepts of the Litonggikuk(理通氣局) and Giballiseung(氣發理乘). Yi,Yi indicates the subtle coexistence between Li(理) and Gi(氣) as the ontology about Ligibulsangjab(理氣不相雜) and Ligibulsangli(理氣不相離) in his philosophy. This is the expression for the connecting relationship with the subtle coexistence between metaphysical existence and physical existence. Mutual relationship of Li(理) and Gi(氣) indicates a feature of the oriental thinking that is the coexistence between principle and phenomenon without any gap. In this context, the Philosophy of Yi,Yi suggested that the perspective of the subtle coexistence between Li(理) and Gi(氣) originated the Unity of Heaven and Man(天人合一). And also this feature is explained concretely the proposition of the Litonggikuk (理通氣局) and Giballiseung(氣發理乘). Therefore Litonggikuk(理通氣局) and Giballiseung(氣發理乘) are subordinate concepts for the ontology of the subtle coexistence between Li(理) and Gi(氣). The ontology of YiYi indicates a thinking of the social organism originated of the oriental tradition. YiYi presented subordinate concepts of the Litonggikuk(理通氣局) and Giballiseung(氣發理乘) and he illuminated it creatively.
