From Wikipedia, Chinese dragons traditionally symbolize potent and auspicious powers, particularly control over water, rainfall, hurricane, and floods. The dragon is also a symbol of power, strength, and good luck for people who are worthy of it. With this, the Emperor of China usually used the dragon as a symbol of his imperial power and strength. The feature and meaning of the dragon in Chinese literature Tang Chuanqi 《Liuyizhuan(柳毅傳)》 is consistent throughout the Chinese cultures. On the other side, what is the meaning of the dragon in the Bible? There are a number of passages in the Old Testament about the dragon called Leviathan. The major passage is found in Job. Satan is called a dragon in the book of Revelation. He is described in Revelation tells us the dragon is the devil(snake) or Satan. The dragon appears to symbolize power and again God conquers with power. So, what is the main difference between Tang chuanqi 《Liuyizhuan(柳毅傳)》 and the Bible 《Job》, This paper deals with features of Dragons as well as peculiar meanings about two cultural phenomenon.
