국문 초록

1930년대 유머소설의 등장은 독서대중의 등장과 밀접한 관련을 맺고 있다. 박태원 소설에서 유머의 문제는 창작활동의 본질에 해당하는 것으로, 본고에서는 유머소설 ｢식객 오참봉｣을 통해 이러한 사실의 일단을 해명하고자 하였다. ｢식객 오참봉｣에서 웃음을 유발하는 요소는 오해라고 할 수 있다. 이는 의사소통을 위한 상호 이해의 오작동으로 이 작품에서 의도적으로 발생 한다. ｢식객 오참봉｣에서 서사는 작중의 작가인 ‘나’의 의도적 지연에서 출 발하며 ‘나’의 창작과정을 노출하면서 반복되는 오해의 과정을 주된 대상으로 삼는다. 이러한 서사는 작품 말미에 ｢식객 오참봉｣은 결코 쓰이지 않 았다는 충격적 결말을 전하는데 이른다. 이러한 오해가 궁극적으로 지향하 는 것은 독자의 적극적인 참여에 의해서 의미가 형성되는 텍스트의 생산이다. 이는 박태원이 독자와 독서의 문제를 매개로 자신의 모더니즘 문학을 ‘쓸 수 있는 텍스트’로 구상했을 의미한다. 박태원 소설에서 유머의 문제를 구인회 구성원들의 웃음에 대한 공통된 관심과 연결시킬 때, 30년대 모더니즘 문학의 성격에 대한 새로운 의미 규정이 가능해질 것이다.

영문 초록

1930s’ humor stories were very closely-connected with the reading masses. This essay on Parasitic Houseguest Oh-Chambong(｢식객 오참봉｣) tried to clear up the character of the humor as creative motive in Park, Tae-won’s novels. The laughter in Oh-Chambong stems from the misunderstanding, which is the malfunction of mutual understanding for communication. In Oh-Chambong, the narrative begins from the intentional delay of ‘I’, who was writing the novel in the novel and goes on repeating the misunderstandings in exposing the processing of narration. This narrative ends up in the fact that the novel never has been written. The narrative’s misunderstanding means the production of text, which is put the meaning through the reader’s active participation ultimately. It means that Park made his own modernism literature into the scriptible-text by the reader. By relating the humor in Park’s novels to the Guinhoe(九人會) members’ interest in laughter, we can find out the new meaning of 1930s’ modernism literature.
