권력거리의 측면에서 살펴본 대학생 은어의 발생 요인과 기능 그리고 대화 함축

국문 초록

이 연구는 대학생 은어를 통해 은어의 생성 원인과 기능 그리고 대화 함축을 살펴보려는 데 그 목적이 있었다. 방법론적으로는 G. 홉스테드(1991)의 문화 차원 이론을 기반으로 인류학적 측면에서 대학생 은어에 접근하고자 하였다. 그 결과를 대강 간추려보면 첫째, 은어는 권력거리의 불평등 조건 하에서 발생하며 둘째, 은어는 외적으로는 은비성을, 그리고 내적으로는 교감적 언어사용의 기능을 갖는다. 셋째, 은어는 대화의 목적을 위해 대화 격률을 의도적으로 위반함으로써 대화 함축을 발생시킨다. 그러므로 은어는 권력거리라는 불평등 조건 하에서 밖으로는 은비성을 통해 보통어와 대립되고 안으로는 교감적 언어사용을 통해 구성원들 사이에 결속과 유대를 다질 뿐만 아니라 대화 함축을 통해 대화 목적을 달성하는 것으로 볼 수 있다.

영문 초록

The main purpose of this research is to investigate the language- anthropological and pragmatics aspects of the language based on Cultural dimension theory by G. Hofstede(1991). The results are followed: Firstly, slang occurs when the power distance is unequal. Second, slang is externally concealed and internally used as Phatic communion. Third, slang causes conversational implicature by intentionally flouting the Maxim of Conversation for the purpose of conversation. In conclusion, slang externally opposes normal language, reinforces the unity and relation by use of Phatic communion internally and achieves the purpose of conversation by Conversation implicature.
