보편적 학습설계 적용능력에 대한 초등학교 교사의 인식과 교육 요구도 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 초등학교 교사들의 보편적 학습설계 적용능력에 대한 인식과 교육 요구도를 밝히는 것이었다. 이를 위해 경기도의 초등학교에 재직 중인 초등학교 교사를 대상으로 설문 조사를 하였고, 334명의 설문지를 통계 분석하였다. 조사도구로는 보편적 학습설계의 원리인 다양한 표상, 표현, 참여수단과 관련된 총 127문항을 사용하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학교 교사는 보편적 학습설계 적용능력에 대한 중요성 인식수준보다 실행수준은 낮았다. 둘째, 초등학교 교사는 다양한 참여수단 제공능력에 대한 교육 요구가 가장 높았다. 셋째, 초등학교 교사들은 배경변인에 따라 보편적 학습설계 적용능력 향상을 위한 교육 요구와 영역별 교육의 우선 순위가 유사했으나, 테크놀로지를 위한 옵션 제공능력에 대한 교육 요구는 경력이 높은 교사의 교육요구 점수가 특별히 높았다. 따라서 보편적 학습설계가 통합교육의 현장에 유용하게 적용될 수 있도록 교사들의 교육적 요구를 반영한 교육지원프로그램을 마련할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate perception and needs of teachers about the universal design for learning(UDL) implementation in elementary schools. Researchers surveyed teachers from selected schools in Gyeonggi province, and 344 questionnaires were used for statistical analysis. The questionnaire included 127 items that stated multiple means of representation, expression, and engagement which are UDL's three principles. The major findings were as the following: First, elementary teachers showed higher important perception level than that of application ability about UDL's three principles. Second, they had the highest level of educational needs about multiple means of engagement among three principles for UDL. Three, they have similar educational needs and their priority of the needs according their background variables but especially experienced teachers have the highest educational needs about using technology to provide alternative ways for learning. It is necessary that inservice support programs for teachers should be provided about applying the UDL principles for inclusion classrooms in elementary schools.
