국문 초록

본 연구는 고등학교시기에 특수교육대상자로 선정ㆍ배치된 경도 정신지체학생의 특수학급 적응 과정에서 나타난 경험의 의미를 이해하는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 중학교시기까지 특수교육 경험이 없으며, 고등학교를 입학 할 때 또는 고등학교 재학 중에 특수교육대상자로 선정되어 특수학급에 배치된 경도 정신지체학생 4명을 연구참여자로 선정하였다. 본 연구는 관찰, 면담 그리고 관련문서를 통해 자료를 수집하였고, 질적자료 분석방법을 통해 귀납적으로 범주화하는 과정을 거쳐 주제를 도출하였다. 연구결과, 고등학교시기에 특수교육대상자로 선정ㆍ배치 된 경도 정신지체학생의 일반학급에서의 학교생활은 친구 및 교사와의 관계에서 어려움을 경험하였고, 수업시간에 지속적으로 방치되었으며, 수업시간을 나태하게 보내기도 하였다. 또한 특수교육대상자로 신청을 한 계기는 교사의 권유도 있었지만, 본인이 희망한 경우도 있었다. 이들은 특수학급 적응 초기에는 다소 어려움이 있었지만, 특수학급에 배치된 이후로 친구 및 교사와의 관계에 긍정적인 변화가 일어났으며, 특수학급에서의 생활에 대해 만족하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to understand the meaning of the experience regarding special class adaptation of the students with mild intellectual disabilities who placed in a special class during high school. Four students with mild intellectual disabilities who were placed in a special class from a period of a high school participated in the study. This study collected data through observations, interviews and documentations. In addition, topics were derived in the process of categorizing data inductively with qualitative data analysis. The results of the study were as follows. The students with mild intellectual disabilities in high school experienced difficulties in relationship with friends and teachers. And they were left in their class continuously and spent their class with indolence. Furthermore, they were placed in special class because of not only the encouragement of teachers but also their wishes. They had some difficulties while they were adapting in special class. But after a while, they got a positive change in the relationship with friends and teachers and satisfied with the life in special class.
