영문 초록

Since the teacher of Arabic as a second language is one of the basic elements in the teaching process, the most important factors to make him a successful lecturer who would offer the maximum benefits to his students are being focused on.The teacher in 21st century must know how to provide quality instruction to Arabic language learners so that our center will leave no learner behind. The objective of this study is to define the desired specifications and characteristics of the teacher of Arabic language to non- speakers from the perspectives of subjects from the university of Jordan. The research also attempts on shedding light on the essential lingual, cultural, technical and psychological facets of that teacher. The outcomes of this paper have been tackled through a contrastive study that illustrates the differences in culture and knowledge between the teacher and the learners. Therefore, means to adopt the comprehensive aspirations of students in finding a successful teacher of Arabic as a second language are highlighted for practical implementation. Bridges of mutual respect and understanding ought to be strong established between the students on one hand and the teacher on the other in order to eliminate the naturally occurring challenging obstacles in such a teaching – learning environment.
