영문 초록

From the viewpoint of language and rhetoric, this study was aimed at clarifying some rhetorical strategies employed in the speeches of Bin Laden and President Bush through the comparative rhetorical analysis. For this, the study will examine the reference groups supposed to be represented in 'we' which I believe will help probing into the identity of the speakers. Also, I will identify the images or the references that accompany 'we ' and 'they' in the discourse. For the analysis, the discourse delivered by Bin Laden in October 29, 2004 and the discourse delivered by Bush in September 11, 2006 was chosen as the text to be analyzed.
