영문 초록

It is "the impression of reality" that makes cinema a powerful art form. We can call it "cinematic realism." The recent Korean movie industry has produced many box-office smash hit movies; however, it seems that those movies do not give the impression of reality; in other words, they lack cinematic realism. One of the Korean talented directors from the seventies is Bae Chang-Ho, who has never lost the touch of cinematic realism from the first movie to the latest effort. This is to review his several films to show how he has tried to find a way out from the repressive reality surrounding the people who inhabit this world of ours.
