영문 초록

The purpose of the study is to investigate the similarities and differences in language learning strategies of future trade specialists and non-trade specialists enrolled in a business school of thirteen universities in Korea. It also examines the relationship between language learning strategy use and self-reported English language proficiency. The study found that future trade specialists generally tended to employ more language learning strategies than non-trade specialists. In addition, trade specialists, particularly at the intermediate level of self-perception about English language proficiency, showed a high rate of language learning strategy use. These differences could be explained by variations in language learning setting and motivation in the two groups. It may be derived that trade specialists incubating program plays a significant role in encouraging the program participants to be more successful English-learners.
