국문 초록

요한 계시록 1:6, 5:10, 그리고 20:6에 병행적으로(juxtapositionally) 언급된 ‘나라’(kingdom)와 ‘제사장’(priest)은 중요한 구속사적 의미를 담고 있다. 두 단어가 품고 있는 의미는 성경 전체에 흐르고 구속사 틀 안에서 이해될 수 있다. 따라서 이 두 단어를 통하여 우리는 요한 계시록을 성경 전체와 구속사적으로 연결시키며 이해할 수 있을 것이다. ‘나라’와 ‘제사장’은 예수그리스도의 구속의 완성으로 말미암아 성도들이 누리게 된 특권과 축복이다. 이것은 이미 구약에서 예언했던 것이며 그리스도의 죽음과 부활로 완성이 되었고 그와 연합된 성도들이 누리게 되었다. 생명을 버리기까지 증언의 말씀을 지켰던 초대교회성도들도 예외 없이 그리스도를 닮아 왕-제사장의 특권과 축복을 누리게 된다. 특별히 계시록 20:6에 기록된 제사장과 왕(나라)의 의미는 천년의 의미와 직결된다. 즉 이 천년은 단순히 미래에 발생할 어떤 문자적 가시적 기간으로 보기 힘들다는 것이다. 이 천년은 이미 완성된 그리스도의 죽음과 부활에서 이해되어야 한다.

영문 초록

‘Kingdom’ and ‘priest’ which are juxtapositionally arrayed in Revelation 1:6, 5:10 and 20:6 have significant meanings in terms of redemptive history. The meanings could be understood within the redemptive historical framework of the whole Scriptures. Thus, through the words, we could connect the Book of Revelation with the whole Scriptures, and understand the former better within the framework. ‘Kingdom’ and ‘priest’ are the privilege and blessing of the saints made possible by means of the redemptive work of Christ. This is what has been already prophesized in the Old Testament, and has been completed through the death and resurrection of Christ. Now the saints who are united with Christ receive the benefits from the completion. The saints of the apostolic churches who has kept the testimony of Christ until death also receive the privilege and blessing of king-priest. Particularly, the meaning of the kingdom and priest in Rev. 20:6 is closely related to that of the millenium. That is, the millenium must not be understood as a literal and visible period. It must be understood in terms of the death and resurrection of Christ, which were already completed as the redemptive plan of Triune God.
