컨테이너 환적항만으로서의 광양항 연구

국문 초록

광양항은 1998년 개장 이래 2012년에 215만 3,000TEU 의 컨테이너를 처리하였다. 지난 10년간 연평균 증가율은 6.9% 수준이었다. 환적 컨테이너는 2011년 기준 32만 8,000TEU를 처리하여 그 비중이 15.8%에 지나지 않았다. 개발계획 수립 시 국내 수출입화물의 분산 처리는 물론 역내 중심항만으로서의 컨테이너 환적항만으로 성장시키려는 목표가 있었다. 그러나, 광양항은 최근 수년간 컨테이너 처리 물동량의 성장세가 답보 상태에 머물고 있으며 특히, 환적 컨테이너 처리실적은 역내 중심항만을 목표로 한 상태에서 비교적 낮은 처리 비율을 보이고 있다. 본 연구는 광양항의 기항 선대 및 환적화물에 대한 분석과 함께 중국 항만에 대한 간선항로 취항 모선의 직기항 체제와 같은 역내 항만 환경 변화 등을 고잘하여 광양항의 컨테이너 환적항만으로서의 지속적인 성장가능성 여부를 고찰해 보고자 한다.

영문 초록

Gwangyang Port has handled 2,153,000 TEU throughput last year since its opening of 1998. Average annual increasing rate has recorded 6.9% during last decades. Container transshipment volume out of port was 328,000 TEU throughput in 2011 of which share is 15.8%. The target of Gwangyang port development project is to handle national export import containers and to attract foreign container transshipment cargo while playing as regional hub port in Northeast Asia. However, Gwangyang port has continued standstill position in terms of growth of container throughput volume, especially transshipment cargo volume. The aim of this study is to consider the possibility of sustainable growth of Gwangyang port through role of container transshipment port in the region based on the analysis of calling fleet and growing trend of transshipment cargo volume together with environmental change such as direct calling to Northern Chinese ports by mother vessels deploying main trunk lines.
