영문 초록

The present research aims to clarify the possibility of cognitive narratology and examines cognitive mapping by the main character in travel narratives. The results can be summarized as follows. Firstly, cognitive narratology illustrates the informational processing and mental representations of cognitive subjects. Also cognitive approach on narrative allows the findings of evolutionary psychology and unravels cognitive strategy of characters. Secondly, based on this theoretical foundations, this paper shows both concepts and methods for analyze travel narrative. They are travel schema, foregrounding strategy, spatial information processing, personal perception, and ideological meaning of cognitive mapping.(Inje University)
