The Purpose of this study is to analyse the effects of environmental taxes on inhabitant's health by using time series data for the period between 1997 to 2012 on metropolitan councils, adopted the basic theoretical framework developed by Tahvonen and Kuuluvainen(1991).
The result of the analysis reveals that imposing a pollution taxes are appears to increase regional income indicating that imposed pollution taxes makes positive effect on regional area. There exists positive long-run equilibrium relationship between < (toxic pollutant ; SOX, NOX, TSP, CO, VOC), (pollution tax ; SCT, TFT, ECT, AVT, MFT, RETT) > and inhabitant's health. Related pollution taxes are about gasoline, kerosene, heavy oil, natural gas, butan gas. These variables have significant positive effects on improving inhabitants' health. In short-term and long-term, toxic pollutant and pollution tax have an impact on the inhabitant's health.
