This study was attempted to investigate the effect of education on the tea functionality regarding the perception, the preference, drinking habits and consumption behavior for green tea. A total of 156 samples were collected for a questionnaire survey with cyber college adult students. Regarding the drinking frequency of tea, the educated group showed a significantly higher number of subjects who drink tea daily on a regular basis at 62.2%. The percentage of the educated group that who drink green tea on a regular basis was significantly higher at (1.6 times) than that of the non-educated group, and the percentage of the educated group that who drink drank 1-2 cups of green tea a per day was significantly higher at about ~ 4.1 times than that of the non-educated group. Based on the amount purchased, the ‘monthly average purchase of green tea’ was seen to be significantly larger for the educated group in accordance with the attendance of tea education. Regarding the perception level of green tea, the educated group showed a significantly higher scores in the items of ‘nutritional food,’ ‘prevention of lifestyle- related diseases,’ ‘weight loss,’ ‘natural food,’ ‘good taste,’ ‘good flavor,’ ‘mental stability’ and ‘refreshed mind’.
