국문 초록

지식경영 분야에서 각광 받아온 실천공동체(Community of Practice)는 기업부문을 넘어 다양한 인간 삶의 영역에서 관심을 받고 있다. 이 연구는 실천공동체에 입각한 지역사회교육운동 사례의 성과요인을 분석하여 지역평생교육 활성화에 관한 논의로 확장하고자 하는 목적에서 출발하였다. 이에 한국지역사회교육협의회에 소속되어 지역사회교육운동의 주체로 활동하고 있는 지도자연구회 회원 377명을 대상으로 실천공동체의 본질적 특성요인이 개인 및 공동체의 성과에 미치는 영향을 밝히는데 연구의 주안점을 두었다. 연구결과 첫째, 실천공동체의 본질적 특성요인인 정체성, 구성원 간 상호작용, 지식의 공유 및 창출의 세 가지 모두에서 구성원들의 인식은 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 실천공동체 성과에 대한 인식 수준은 실천공동체 활동기간이 길수록, 실천공동체에서의 역할이 중요할수록, 활동분야에서 전문성을 가진 위치일수록 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 실천공동체의 본질적 특성요인은 개인 및 공동체의 성과와 정적인 상관관계를 보였으며, 상대적 영향력으로 ‘지식창출 및 공유’가 실천공동체의 성과에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 실천공동체를 구성하는 세 가지 주요 특성요인인 정체성, 구성원 간 상호작용, 지식의 창출 및 공유를 바탕으로 산출된 가치와 성과는 지역사회교육운동의 주요 성과 요인이 되었고 이를 발전시키는데 기여한 것으로 평가되었다.

영문 초록

A community of practice(CoP) that has got the spotlight in the field of knowledge management proliferates now not only in business sectors but also in various human life aspects. The purpose of this study is to analyze of performance factor of community education movement case and to expand discussion about vitalization of community lifelong education. To achieve the purpose we probe the impact of substantial characteristics on the performance of individuals and communities, and having surveyed by 377 members of a leadership group of lifelong learning programs at the Korean Association of Community Education. The findings of the study are as follows: First, the members highly recognize the importance of the three substantial characteristics of CoP, identity, interaction within members, and knowledge creation and sharing. Second, as the members have the longer length of participation period, the more importance of role in the group, and the more expertise in the activity, they tend to have stronger awareness about the performance of CoP. Third, there is a correlation between the substantial characteristics of CoP and the performance of individuals and communities. In addition, the most important factor having strong influence on the performance of CoP is knowledge creation and sharing. The result of this study shows that the value and performance factor from those substantial characteristics, i.e., identity, interaction within members, and knowledge creation and sharing have strengthened the basis of community education movement and contributed to its development.
