영문 초록

This study investigates the differences in the perception of the beginning of old years and in the preference for the housing types and environments in that years among twenty to fifty-years old people living in Seoul metropolitan area who are sampled for this study. The object of the investigation is to get some primary data for the housing policy preparing the aged society in the future. The research methods are frequency and ratio analysis, cross-tab analysis (χ2-test), and one way ANOVA (F-test) of the sample(size: 397). The differences in the perception of the beginning of one’s old age and in the preference for the housing types and environments in that age among generations appear to be statistically very significant. These differences seem to be due to the gaps in the incomes, social positions, life styles, and senses of values among them. The results of this study suggest that the housing policy in the future needs to be adapted for the preference of housing consumers who will be aged persons in succession rather than the convenience or benefits of housing providers.
