국문 초록

본고는 고승전류와 고승문집의 집성과 자료에 대하여 살펴본 연구이다. 고승전류는 고려의 『해동고승전』 및 『삼국유사』, 조선의 『동국승니록』과 『동사열전』등이 있지만 대개 중세 이후의 고승들의 것이다. 고대 고승들의 경우 중국과 일본의 고승전류에 실린 한국고승을 보강할 수 있다. 그리고 고려 이후 등장하는 고승어록이나 조선시대 고승문집류, 중세이후의 고승비문 등도 고승 관련 자료 등이 추가 정리되어 『대장경』과 『한국불교전서』에 집성 번역되어 추가 간행되어야 한다. 고승이야말로 한국역사를 전개하고 한국불교를 주도하였던 주역이라는 인식이 필요하다.

영문 초록

This paper shows a class of Goseung-jeon(高僧傳, highly virtuous Buddhist stories) and a collection and reference of Goseung-munjip(高僧文集, highly virtuous Buddhist story books). A class of Goseung-jeon are just like the 『Haedong-goseung-jeon(海東高僧傳)』 and 『Samguk-yousa(三國遺事)』 in the Koryödynasty and 『Dogguk-seongni-rok(東國僧尼錄)』 and 『Dongsa-yoel-jeon(東師列傳)』 in the Chosõn dynasty but most of them are Buddhist monks(高僧) after the middle ages. In the case of ancient Buddhist monks, they can supplement in Japan’s and China’s Goseung-jeon. And a quotation books from Buddhist monks after the Koryödynasty, a collection of Goseung-munjip or a monumental inscription of Buddhist monks after the middle ages should be classified, translated and republished on the Tripitaka and 『Hangukbulgyojeonsû(韓國佛敎全書)』. So we need to focus on the fact that Buddhist monks played an important role in Korean Buddhism and expanded the Korean history.
