국문 초록

이 연구에서는 행동연쇄중단전략(Behavior Chain Interruption Strategy)이 정신지체아동의 요구하기 기능 수행에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 구어가 가능한 정신지체 아동 4명을 연구 대상으로 대상자간 중다간헐기초선설계를 적용하였으며, 일과 맥락 중 요리활동(간식 만들기)과 미술활동을 중재 상황으로 설정하였다. 중재로 사용한 행동연쇄중단전략에는 구체적으로 ‘선택하기’, ‘항목빼기’, ‘지연된 도움’, ‘틀린 항목 제시’, ‘중단된 반응’의 다섯 가지 전략이 포함되었다. 연구 결과, 행동연쇄중단전략을 적용한 일과 상황에서 대상 아동의 구어를 통한 요구하기 수행율이 향상되었다. 또한 대상에 대한 일반화와 유지 효과도 확인되었다. 후속연구에서는 대상의 장애영역 확대 및 보다 다양한 의사소통 기능에 대한 영향을 알아볼 필요가 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study aims to investigate the effect of the behavior chain interruption strategy on the skill of requesting of children with mental retardation in spoken language. Using a multiple probe design across participants, this study provided interventions to four children with mental retardation in a private clinic. Two daily activities such as cooking and art were chosen as intervention situations. Children were asked to request in spoken language what they wanted in cooking and art activities. Five intervention strategies were employed: selecting, blocking, time-delay help, providing wrong items, and interrupting. The results of this study showed that the requesting skills in spoken language of four children were improved, and the children generalized the acquired skill to different routines with others and maintained it for two weeks after the intervention. Future studies need to demonstrate the effectiveness of the behavior chain interruption strategy for children with other types of disabilities and in other communication functions.
