한ㆍ중 악기류의 수출경쟁력 변화에 대한 실증분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 한ㆍ중 양국간 악기산업의 현황을 조사하고 미국 악기시장에서 양국의 악기제품이 어느 정도의 경쟁력을 확보하고 있는 지를 동태적 경쟁력 변화 측면에 초점을 맞춰 분석해 봄으로써 국내 악기산업의 실태를 점검하고 한국 악기산업의 발전을 도모하려는 목적에서 수행되었다. 양국간 악기류의 경쟁력을 분석하기 위해 한국무역협회의 무역통계에서 피아노, 현악기, 관악기, 타악기, 전자 악기, 뮤지컬박스, 부분품 등 7개 품목을 대상으로 2000년부터 2010년까지의 수출입 자료를 추출하여 사용하였다. 분석방법은 HS 코드 기준 악기제품별 데이터로부터 무역특화지수, 수출편향지수, 시장별 비교우위지수를 산출하고 이를 근거자료로 이용하였다. 분석 결과, 미국시장에서 한국산 악기제품의 수출 경쟁력은 중국산에 비해 전반적으로 비교열위에 있었다. 연구결과는 우리 정부와 관련업계에 한국 악기산업의 경쟁력 제고를 위해서는 국산 악기제품의 고부가가치 브랜드화 작업이 선행되어야 함과 동시에 새로운 악기 수요 분야로 부각되고 있는 전자악기 부문에 대한 적극적인 육성방안이 마련되어야 함을 요구하고 있다. 아울러 악기산업의 수요기반이 되는 음악산업을 필두로 한국내 연관산업의 발전도 병행되어야 한다는 것을 시사하고 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims to seek some implications which will develope Korean musical instrument industry by empirically analyzing changes in the export competitiveness ofmusical instruments between Korea and China in the U.S.A.market. For the purpose, Trade Specialization Index, Export Bias Index, and Market Comparative Advantage Index were selected as analyzing method. HS 4 unit code in the musical instrument industry was used to analyze. The data used in the study were obtained fromthe trade statistics from2000 to 2010 produced by Korea International Trade Association(KITA). The empirical results of the study revealed that Koreanmusical instruments products are less competitive than Chinese ones in the U.S.A. market. These results suggest that Korea government authorities and relevant industry should improve the competitiveness of musical instrument industry by pursuing such development plans for musical instrument industry as making high value-added instruments, developing electronic instruments, and promoting domesticmusic industry.
