영문 초록

This study aims to survey stone cutting and capstone conveyance in order to reveal the method of constructing dolmen. To achieve this end, first of all, the preceding researches and the trend of research on stone cutting and capstone conveyance are examined closely. And then, information on cutting marks shown in capstones and propstones examined in Gyeonggi area is organized. Lastly, we analyze the dolmen site in Icheon by Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System in order to examine the conveyance of the capstone. As the result of this study, we have yet to find the correct place of quarry and the exact course of capstone conveyance. We can only estimate them. Further studies on the stone cutting and capstone conveyance must be proceeding in Korean dolmen circles.
