영문 초록

In the old documents of China and Korea Japan was known as Wai or wai-Kuk that means a kind of barbarians. In the Kwang-ge-go-wang’s monument, Koguryo repelled wai in the Korean peninsula. We can see the Koguryo dispatched the tributary missions to Japan in Ni-hon-sho-ki in 4th century. But this was not true. But, Koguryo made progress in strong nation in 5th century against shilla and kaya, Koguryo had relations to Japan by sea against Shilla, in 6th century, For example Koguryo dispatched Buddhistic monks. Koguryo had an important role, in the Japanese Culture development.
