영문 초록

In 1910 Imperialist Japan colonialized Korean Peninsula, set up Chosun Colonial Government and started terror politics with strong military police. Against the oppressing rule of the arms and sword, there occurred Anti-Japanese independence movement. as a new strategy and tactics. The movement was a concrete way of secret resistance group against the imperialist colonialism. In 1913 Chae Gi-jung secretly organized Anti-Japanese armed group Deahan gwangbokdan with twelve contrades in Punggi, Kyungsangdo Province. This group raised military fund in order to establish an independece movement camp abroad, train the arm and finally wage a independence war against Japanese colonialism. In 1915 Chae Gi-jung united his group with Park Sang-jin’s group, Deahangwangbokdan of Daegu area and renamed the new group Deahangwangbokhoe. They strengthened their military organization. This newly established group expanded their organization in Manchuria as well as in the Peninsula and put the seven aims of struggle into practice. In addition to this, four articles of secrecy, commotion, assassination and command become their codes of act for the restoration of independence power. However, the secret activities of Deahangwangbokhoe were found out by Japanese police. Leaders like Park Sang-jin and Chae Gi-jung were arrested and sentenced to death and many other members of the group were put into prison. The rest fled to mainland China and Manchuria in other to continue the fight against colonialist Japan. Deahangwangbokdan(or hoe) was significant during modern Korean history. First it was the biggest and active anti-Japanese secret resistance group. Second, it had a nation-wide organization for Anti-Japanese group that later influenced independence movement. Therefore, Daehangwangbokdan (or hoe) should be called the large and authentic organization of Anti-Japanese secret independence movement group abroad as well as in Korea peninsula.
