영문 초록

In accordance with the analysis results, all subjects recognized that UV were harmful against skin. However, the awareness level of both male and female college students on SPF(Sun Protection Factor) and PA(Protection grade for UVA) was low. While both male and female college students had the awareness that UV was the worst in summer, college students considered that UV would be harmful in spring and winter, respectively. The subjects who used sunscreens had more knowledge on sunscreens than those who didn’t use sunscreens and had more intention to continuously use the sunscreens than those who didn’t use sunscreens. Although there were not many students who experienced the side effects after applying sunscreens, those students protected UV using clothes with long sleeves and hats instead of sunscreens. However, they strongly wanted to continuously apply sunscreens in spite of their experience on side effects. The results of this study can be used for identifying the awareness on UV types from sunlight and as the health education data on the impacts of exposure to sunlight. Furthermore, the analysis results of this study may be used as the basic data for promotion and proper application method of sunscreens.
