영문 초록

So, such, too, and enough among various groups of degree words have their complements and a discontinuous dependency property with tile complements. like elements(-er, as, more, less). The traditional mechanisms to deal with these constructions are transformational rules (Bresnan(1973), Baltin(1975)), interpretative rules, and a mix of the two(Gueron & May(1984)). Chomsky(1977) tries to explain these characteristics of result clauses with Move-α. But he cannot give an account of the specificity of many-to-one relation between degree words and a resultative complement in finite result clauses. and of infinitive result clauses occurring resumptive pronoun in terms of the movement concept. In this paper, therefore, I show how to explain the characteristics of finite result clauses and infinitive result clauses in the framework of Sag(1987, 1992, 1996) and the proposals of Soh(1996). Furthermore, I propose new constraints to handle various properties of each result clauses.
