영문 초록

The structures of color terms in current ontologies are more flat than hierarchical. However, we argue that color terms should be structured hierarchically. We have conducted psycholinguistic experiments on the mapping between Korean color terms and colors. The physically continuous property of colors makes it impossible for us to refer to “every color.” This property exerted a negative influence in proving a reasonable account of colors. We found out that some color terms are closer than others and hence form a group. Such grouping induces a hierarchical clustering of color terms.
