李白《白头吟》考辨

영문 초록

Li Bai's poem "Bai tou Yin" has two versions with the same title. Their substance and tone are quite similar to one another. Huang Ting Jian argues that one was first composed while the other was later written in recollection of the former poem, and so that the same poem has come to us in two versions. In opposition to his view, some other critics are of the opinion that such a literary phenomenon derives from the practice of ‘lyrics corresponding to music’ (樂府相和歌詞). This means that the poet has come to get two different poems as he composes his poem in accordance to two different notes of music. Considering both the practice in general of ‘lyrics corresponding to music’ and the fact that in the contemporary culture Tang poetry used to be created and trasmitted as sung to music, the present author comes to the conclusion that a couple of poems with the same title complement each other. The affinity of substance between two poems naturally appears even though the lyrics from the former age somehow inevitably yield to some corrections and additions when a song with Qin-Han lyrics is recited to the accompaniment of Jin music. While they took into account the format of ‘correspondence’ when performing Tang poems to music, they hardly revised me poem itself despite some changes in its title. In addition, it is said that when Li Bai set to composing a poem and was not pleased with the first draft, he would destroy it and start from scratch. judging from the above facts it is reasonable that his “Bai Tou Yin” has two different versions as Huang Ting Jian convincingly argues.
