영문 초록

This study aims to analyse the current status of FTA between Korea·GCC and develop our measures. For the purpose, the study identified the current conditions of economic integration and trade between Korea and Gulf Cooperation Council(GCC) and developed our measures based on necessity of FTA and its expected effect. The study collected data through bibliographical investigation and referred to the results from research by Korean Institute for International Economic Policy, and data from Knowledge Hub for Creative Solutions, Korea Eximbank, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. For trade indexes, the study referred to the data from Korea International Trade Association(KITA), Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Corporation(KOTRA), Korea Eximbank and Korean Statistical Information Service(KOSIS) as well as varieties of sites, statistical data and newspaper articles. The results are presented as follows: As GCC has showed rapid growth as an economic zone with the largest energy resource and has had FTA with main developed countries such as EU and China and Southern Cone Common Market, we should conclude FTA with it to enhance economic cooperation and national competitiveness. Also, we should develop countermeasures to develop a win-win model as a partner for industrial diversification including economy and culture through exchanges and cooperation.
