영문 초록

This study has sought to classify the type of errors which Thai learners of Korean make and to provide some effective teaching methods for reducing the errors by contrasting the Korean language with the Thai language. It was found that the Thai learners who had just started to study the Korean language were heavily influenced by their mother language. Such an influence of the mother language may attribute to the learners’ tendency to understand the rules of the Korean language through those of the Thai language. Therefore, knowing the differences between the two languages can help teachers to predict the types of errors that Thai learners of Korean may produce, and to reduce learner errors. When teachers know the causes of the problems their students are faced with, they can approach them with more effective teaching methods.
