영문 초록

According to phenomenology, there are two dimensions from which every system derives its meaning： that is, the formal or syntactic dimension and the transcendental or semantic dimension. Based on phenomenal theories which we necessary to perceive and recognize environmental objects, we will establish cognitive system about buildings. This system involves cognition elements that is required to understand buildings in urban environment and decides an attitude about space organizations, building forms, symbol system and visible behavior. In this study, by recognizing environmental objects surrounding us with phenomenological view, we also deduce cognitive method to buildings through consideration about perception, and attitude which is based on architectural form theories. As a result, the architecture surrounding urban environment should be emphasized upon the design of urban environment with consideration of the psychological response of people as well as the perception about the symbolic image of place.
