According to the economic growth and food service industry advance, the various occupations that are intimately with food appeared. The food coordinator is one of newly-emerging departments. This study found that food service industry think that the role of professional food coordinator is very important, therefore food coordinator is needed. However, it is true that food coordinators are not in the stable position in their job so far since food coordinator as the type of occupation has not had long history in Korea society.
The purpose of this study is to examine effects of role ambiguity on job performance and job satisfaction in a Food Coordinators. Results indicate that: role ambiguity is significantly related to both job performance and job satisfaction; and, that job performance are related to Food Coordinators’s satisfaction. Other results suggest a positive relationship between job performance and job satisfaction, and th a t job performance mediate effects or role ambiguity on satisfaction.
