영문 초록

Tourism which is the biggest service industry worldwide is one of the pillars of Turkish economy. Turkey is situated in a large area and its different geographic regions that had been home to various civilizations offer plenty of tourist attractions all year round. However, surface transportation systems are not well developed in Turkey due to the fact that geography makes travel inconvenient and costly. This situation limits tourists who have time constraints from seeing more places. Regional air transportation can provide access from the popular tourist places to some other destinations that would otherwise be difficult to visit. This study aims to investigate potential benefits of regional air transportation to the Turkish tourism industry.
