It is very important to analyze the role of ICT and e-business for destination management, CRM in tourism, and on prospects for innovative mobile e-services for tourists. Destinations are the core units of competition in tourism. Yet, they are not manageable like a single enterprise as they consist of a multitude of heterogeneous companies, which are formally independent from each other. From this perspective, destination management organizations (DMOs) are some kind of virtual enterprises spanning different tourism service providers within their region. Therefore, the application of ICT by DMOs is a challenge and a great opportunity alike.
