영문 초록

In the 2000s, the Kyushu economic region has seized opportunities among economic, trading and logistical growth within the East Asia economic area. In particular, overseas container cargoes have continuously increased during 2000-2008 by 47.5%. Sharing an affinity with Busan port, international trade and logistics in the Kyushu economic region can be expected to expand even more. This paper analyzed the changes in utilizing transshipment container ports in the East Asia area surrounding Kyushu economic region during 2000s, having the object of investigation the international logistics network connectivity in East Asia. According to the research results, it is shown that Busan port has enhanced the competitiveness of obtaining transshipment cargoes of Kyushu economic region in 2000s, compared with other East Asian ports. We verified the comparative advantage of Busan in transshipment cargoes over North America and Japan. Meanwhile, Busan port seemed to secure advantages with European and other Asian bound cargoes as well, but still has to struggle in raising competitiveness with Chinese cargoes.
