국문 초록

아동의 발화길이 및 통사적 복잡성과 비유창성 빈도 간의 관련성 여부에 대한 연구가 계속되어 왔으나, 선행연구 결과들이 일치하지 않으며 또한 이러한 언어학적 변인과 비유창성의 관계가 임상적으로 시사하는 바가크다. 본 연구는 선행연구의 방법론적 측면을 고려하여 3- 5세의 유창성장애아동 8명(남자 5명, 여자 3명)을 대상으로 발화길이 및 통사적 복잡성에 따른 비유창성 빈도의 변화를 살펴보았다. 본 연구는 비유창성 빈도와 발화길이의 관련성을 파악하기 위해 문장의 통사적 복잡성을 통제한 문장모방과제를 실시하였으며, 비유창성과 통사적 복잡성의 관련성을 파악하기 위해 문장의 길이를 통제한 모델링과제를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 발화길이가 길어짐에 따라 비유창성의 빈도가 유의하게 증가하였고, 또한 통사적 복잡성이 증가함에 따라 비유창성의 빈도가 유의하게 증가하였다. 이러한 연구결과를 요구·용량 모델(Demands and Capacities Model)의 관점에서 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Several recent theories have suggested that speech disfluencies are related in part to various linguistic aspect s. This study examined the relationship between utterance length and frequency of disfluencies and that between syntactic complexity and frequencies of disfluencies in children who stutter. Eight 3- to 5-year - old children who stutter (three girls and five boys) participated in a sentence imitation task in which stimuli were divided into two levels of utterance length and a sentence modeling task in which stimuli were divided into three levels of syntactic complexity. The result s indicated that overall disfluencies in sentence imitation tasks increased significantly as utterance length increased. In the same vein, overall disfluencies in sentence modeling tasks increased significantly as syntactic complexity increased. The result s are discussed in terms of Demands and Capacities Model.
