영문 초록

This study sheds new light on the mentality of Korean tea culture by considering Hyodang Choi Bum-Sool’s spirit of Chado. Hyodang succeeded the legacy of Cho Ui’s the spirit of Chado through a long period of Chasallim with asceticism practices as a monk, and was called the modern king of Chado. His publishing ‘Hangukui Chado’ had significant meaning as the first an introduction to Chado in the Tea World. In Hyodang’s spirit of Chado that appears in ‘Hangukui Chado’, Chado’s Joongjungjido spirit in the aspect of everyday life and the Chasunilche (Tea-Zen Unification) spirit in the aspect of discipline that Cha-life has are emphasized.
