2세 한국 아동의 주어 발달 특성

국문 초록

본 연구는 2;0 - 2;10세 2명 아동의 종단적 발화 자료를 이용하여 초기 주어 습득 과정에서의 다양한 문법형태소의 습득에 덧붙여 주어 및 주제의 사용과 생략에 대한 종단적 연구를 시도하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 두 아동 모두 2;0세에 이미 주격조사와 보조사를 사용하여 주어 및 주제가 표지된 문장, 주격조사와 보조사를 사용하지 않은 무표주어 문장, 주어가 생략된 문장 모두를 사용하고 있었다. 2세 후반에 이르러 주격조사와 보조사를 사용한 주어표지 비율이 현저히 증가하였으며, 습득과정에서 두 아동 간의 개인차가 두드러졌으나 선행 연구의 결과에서처럼 주격조사 ‘이/가’의 사용빈도가 보조사 ‘은/는’과 비교하여 크게 높지는 않았다. 둘째, 보조사 ‘은/는’은 두 아동 모두 첫 발화에서부터 2세 후반의 습득 전 과정에 걸쳐 ‘주제’의 의미기능보다는 ‘대조’로서의 의미기능으로 더 많이 표현되고 있었으며 이러한 결과는 부모 발화의 입력과정에서도 유사한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 초기 주어 습득과정에서 담화-화용적 기능의 영향과 관련하여, 표면주어가 대조정보와 기존정보일때 담화-화용적 특성이 두드러짐을 관찰할 수 있었으며, 특히 생략된 주어가 기존정보일 때 두 아동 모두에게서 주어 생략의 빈도가 현저히 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과와 관련하여 언어장애아동의 문법형태소 및 주어 표현 중재와 관련한 논의를 시도하였다.

영문 초록

The present study was designed to investigate the acquisition of four Korean semantic particles and features of overt and null subjects/topics using longitudinal data from two, two-year-old, Korean children. Data were collected every two weeks from the age of 24 to 34 months(2;0 - 2;10) at the children’s home with their mother. The results suggested that the Korean children produce the subjects as a bare nominal, as a null subject, and as a subject with particles in the early acquisition stage(from the age of 2;0). The major findings of this study indicate that the contrastive marker ‘n(un)’ is used more often than the discourse-topic marker ‘n(un)’ in accordance with their respective mother’s input. The discourse-pragmatics hypothesis assumes that the child’s null arguments stem from pragmatics features of discourse. It is also proposed that the discourse-pragmatic features such as contrast information are a potential explanation in addition to given information for the production of subject arguments in early language acquisition in Korean.
